My Top 4 TV Show in the Drama Category

TV Ratings and Networks

The following four TV shows are my favorite drama shows for the Fall Season, 2012. In case, you have not been watching these four shows, here are brief summaries from the network ads and promotion. I have no order of preference, I love the four shows all at the same level, fervor and devotion. If you are also watching these shows, please feel free to make a comment.

1.American Horror Story(FX) is a horror-drama television series created and produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Described as an anthology series, each season is conceived as a self-contained miniseries, following a disparate set of characters and settings, and a storyline with its own "beginning, middle and end." The first season takes place in the present day and follows the story of the Harmon family, who move into a restored mansion, unaware that the home is haunted by its former inhabitants. The second season, titled American Horror Story: Asylum, takes place in 1964 and follows the stories of the patients, doctors and nuns who occupy an institution for the criminally insane.

The series is broadcast on the cable television channel FX in the United States. The first season premiered on October 5, 2011, and concluded on December 21, 2011. The second season premiered on October 17, 2012. American Horror Story has been well received by television critics and fans. The cast has been generally praised, particularly Jessica Lange. The series draws consistently high ratings for the FX network, with its first season being the biggest new cable series of 2011.

2. Revenge (ABC) is an American television drama series that airs on ABC starring Madeleine Stowe and Emily VanCamp. It debuted on September 21, 2011, and aired on Sunday nights at 9 pm Eastern/8:00 pm Central. The pilot was screened early on ABC's website during a promotional tie-in with Amazon Kindle. The series was picked up for a full season by ABC after garnering a high 3.3 Nielsen rating in the all-important 18-49 age advertising demographics for its pilot episode and regularly winning its time slot against every other television network (CBS, Fox, The CW, and NBC) in 18-34 demos. Madeleine Stowe was nominated for the 2012 Golden Globe Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a TV Drama, while the series was nominated for Favorite New TV Drama at the 2012 People's Choice Awards. The series currently airs in 39 countries worldwide.

Revenge has become ABC’s highest-rated series in Wednesday’s 10 p.m. Time slot since Lost's 2006–2007 season and has become the only new series in more than four years to replicate the 18–49 demo ratings success that Lost had in its time slot since leaving the air. On May 10, 2012, ABC renewed the series for a second season which airs on Sundays at 9:00PM Eastern/8:00PM Central beginning on September 30, 2012, in the time slot previously occupied by Desperate Housewives.

3. 666 Park Avenue (ABC) is an American supernatural drama series starring Rachael Taylor, Dave Annable, Vanessa Williams and Terry O'Quinn. The series was created and produced by David Wilcox, and was loosely based upon the novel of the same name by Gabriella Pierce. The series follows a couple who learns that the Manhattan apartment building that they just moved into, including its upscale tenants, might be possessed by a mysterious demonic force. ABC ordered the pilot on January 20, 2012, and it was picked up for a full first season of thirteen episodes on May 11, 2012. It currently airs on Sunday evenings at 10:00 pm, with the series Revenge serving as its lead in. The first season premiered on September 30, 2012. The elaborate Beaux-Arts building located on the fashionable Upper East Side of Manhattan called "The Drake" in the series is an actual apartment building, The Ansonia in New York City.

Typhoon Sandy just a couple of days ago damaged the sets of this TV show. ABC is expected to announce the future status of one of my favorite drama shows this Fall Season, 2012.

4. Revolution (NBC) is an American post-apocalyptic science fiction television drama series created by Eric Kripke. It is produced by J. J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions for the NBC network. It debuted on September 17, 2012 and airs on Mondays at 10:00 pm (ET). The network placed a series order in May 2012. Film director Jon Favreau directed the pilot episode. The pilot episode was viewable on Hulu and NBC.com, prior to the series' broadcast premiere. On October 2, 2012 NBC picked it up for a full season making the first season consist of 22 episodes.

Revolution takes place in a post-apocalyptic dystopian future. Fifteen years earlier, an unknown phenomenon disabled all technology dependent on electricity on the planet, ranging from computers and electronics to car engines, jet engines, and batteries. People were forced to adapt to a world without functioning technology. Due to the collapse of government and public order, many areas are ruled by warlords and militias.

The series focuses on the Matheson family, who possess a special device (a flash drive-like pendant) that is the key to not only finding out what happened fifteen years ago, but also a possible way to reverse its effects. However, they must elude Sebastian Monroe, the General of the Monroe Militia and President of the Monroe Republic who wants to possess that power for himself for conquest of the former United States of America.

Do you have another favorite TV show in the Drama category besides the above four? Note that in the dance and singing categories, my favorites are Dancing with the Stars, Glee, the Voice and the “X” Factor. In the adventures and reality TV show category, my two favorites are Survivor Philippines and the Amazing Race, both from the CBS network.

What Others Say About Marinduque

The White Beach of Poctoy, Torrijos with Mt Malinding in the background The following are some of quotes and comments that I have read in the web from visitors to Marinduque. Traveling to the island during the Easter peak season can drive one nuts, but Marinduque greatly rewards your "penitencia" with one-of-a-kind religious revelry, beautiful landscape and gracious people. From: eazytraveler.blogspot.com A small island province in central Philippines, Marinduque speaks of such profound natural beauty that will not escape the notice of a well seasoned traveller. From: instaurareperomniachristo.blogspot.com I stayed in Marinduque for almost three weeks. It's a heart-shaped island surrounded by pristine blue waters, beautiful white sand beaches ( in most areas) and marine sanctuaries. I have been told it has one of the most beautiful virgin coral reefs. It is truly such an awesome place. While I was there I've seen so much picturesque views that more than once took my breath away. They were like pictures from National Geographic. From: www.myscrapworks.com/mswdigi/ It is with a heavy heart that I left Marinduque the next morning to go home. I wish to thank all Marinduquenos for their hospitality. Marinduque is for sure one of those places you should see before you die. http://my_sarisari_store.typepad.com/moriones Festival, May 26, 2006 My whole Holy Week experience was utterly engaging and can hardly be forgotten. Leaving the island of Marinduque after a week-long joyful festivities is quite saddening. On the Monday after the Festival, tourists begin to leave and the island become once more a place of simplicity, complacency and beauty. I am thankful to the Marinduquenos for giving me a temporary home away from my true home. Dennisvillegas.blogspot.com/april/2008. Memories of a nocturnal walk in Boac, June 29, 2008 It was the last night of my week long sojourn to Marinduque. Eight in the evening, I went out of my hotel room to stroll once more the lovely streets of Boac. The evening was peaceful and cool with a lovely soft breeze of wind in the air. This reminded me that I was in one of the most rural places in the Philippines.etc...etc.. The sky was well illuminated with the romantic glow of the moon, creating lovely silhouttes of ancient houses from beyond, dwarfed only by the lowly clouds from above etc... etc.... It was past midnight when I started back to my hotel room, still photographing street sceneries. Boac indeed is a lovely little town from the olden days, but its evening is even lovelier... Dennisvillegas blogspot.com/, june, 2008. If it's your first time in Marinduque, do not worry. Almost everyone seems to be a friendly guide. Genuine hospitality is what I like most in this island. From dongism.blogspot.com Characterized by pristine natural beauty, Marinduque boasts of a wide spectrum of unspoiled beaches, mountain peaks, fabled sulfur springs, limestone caves, cascading waterfalls, fringing reefs, virgin islets and old Churches.
