I was invited to a Filipino-American- 88th Birthday, Greg Atienza, in Concord, CA, Saturday, October 4, 2025. I met Greg and his wife Ruby through John and Carol Larimore. As usual, there was plenty of Filipino Food. The party was highlighted with Lechon ( roasted Suckling PIG) ordered all the way from San Bruno, CA. Following Pinoy traditions, I took home, Salmon Sinigang Soup, which I will devour with gusto this Sunday (today).
I took a few photos as follows:
My Salmon Head Sinigang Soup- Yummy-here's my own recipe for salmon fish head soup
The Lumpia- Vegetable, Appetizer
Eight Main Dishes- I proud of myself- Because of my Renal diet, I restraint myself. I only ate a small portion of the Kare-Kare, one small bite of lechon skin and sago- jello for dessert and water for beverage.
Desserts Galore
Greg Atienza- The Celebrant
Edmund from San Ramon- Greg Son-in-law- my fellow Ilongo. Edmund gave me a ride home.
Some of the many guests of Greg and Ruby. Thank you Greg, Ruby and Edmund for your hospitality. The salmon head sinigang soup was delicious. Before, I forget, there was Karaoke singing and a little bit of dancing.

Hello David, Carol and I are delighted that you had such a fabulous time with our friends Greg and Ruby Atienza! I love your listing of the foods as well as the pictures! I'm happy that you had a ride to the party. Carol and I would of course have been there, but we couldn't go becasue Carol is hampered physically from a couple of falls we took recently. I'm doing fine, but Carol has a severe right hamstring strain which limits her mobility and saps her energy. Still, she is determined to do all she can, both for herself and for me, and we are managing quite well without needing outside help. We're taking life one day at a time. Please keep us in your prayers.
Much love,
John Larimroe
