With over 113 million people packed into a land area that ranks just 73rd in size, the country is one of the densest, making its cities vibrant but often crowded. The islands’ mix of urban centers and rural areas results in a unique demographic blend, contributing to a rich tapestry of cultures and languages. And while it may be surprising that such a geographically compact country has this many people, the Philippines’ youthful population—where nearly 40% are under 20 years old—adds a dynamic energy, making it one of the fastest-growing populations in Asia.
